Technical Details

The scans of Steve's most recent paintings (those since

Executioner's Song from 2006) have been made by Ian at Linear Photograhic. They were taken directly from the originals with a state-of-the-art Betterlight digital scanning unit, mounted on a large format camera.

A small amount of work has been carried out afterwards in Photoshop to prepare the resulting images for the web and for printing.

Scans of all the earlier paintings were taken from old school 5"" x 4"" photographic negatives or slides of the original paintings. A Canon Canoscan 9900F scanner was used to capture the images digitally, with minimal editing afterwards in Photoshop.
